What’s in your policy?

We’ve seen many of our valued customers run into issues with inadequate insurance coverage. Whether it’s not having enough car rental coverage or a substandard parts choice policy, we want to help you learn from others mistakes to make your car repair experience seamless and stress free….

Here are a few tips:

  1. It’s very important to include rental car coverage in your policy. It’s relatively cheap for the year in comparison to paying out of your pocket if you need one while your vehicle is being repaired. Insurance companies offer different types of coverage for a rental car. It ultimately depends on your preference and what size vehicle you drive but to avoid any out of pocket expenses, include a minimum of $40 a day for a rental.

  2. Knowing the different types of parts choice policy options that are available to you can make a big difference. Some companies offer an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) policy as well as an aftermarket (parts that are not produced by the OEM) policy. If you have an aftermarket parts policy, that means your company will only pay for those replacement parts on your claim, whether you want them or not. We strongly advise to go with an OEM policy. The best parts to use are the ones made by your vehicle manufacturer.

  3. Do your research. I cannot stress this enough….there are companies out there that won’t pay for your car repair in full, leaving you with the responsibility of paying the difference. Having a “cheap” policy might be great at first, but when you need them, whatever money you saved will go towards the repair bill.
